What is BS EN 754-1 - Aluminium and aluminium alloys about?
BS EN 754 is a series of European standards on aluminium and aluminium alloys that discusses the best procedures and specifications required for manufacturing high-quality cold drawn rod/bar and tube. BS EN 754-1 is the first part of a series of documents on aluminium and aluminium alloys. BS EN 754-1 specifies the technical conditions for inspection and delivery of aluminium and aluminium alloy cold drawn rod/bar and tube for general engineering applications.
BS EN 754-1 applies to products that are extruded and then cold drawn.
BS EN 754-1 does not apply to:
- Forging stock (EN 603)
- Products delivered in coils (EN 13958)
- Coiled tubes cut to length (EN 13958)
Who is BS EN 754-1 - Aluminium and aluminium alloys for?
BS EN 754-1 on aluminium and aluminium alloy is relevant to:
- Manufacturer of aluminium and aluminium alloy cold drawn rod/bar and tube
Why should you use BS EN 754-1 - Aluminium and aluminium alloys?
Aluminium rods are also used to supply liquids to water treatment plants, food processing units, heat exchangers, and other similar industrial applications. Being more thermal conductive than steel, the aluminium products can be used in both cooling and heating applications.
BS EN 754-1 provides guidance on production and manufacturing processes, quality control, chemical composition limits, mechanical properties, freedom from surface defects, tolerances on dimensions and form, stress corrosion cracking resistance, test procedures.
BS EN 754-1 exemplifies the required chemical composition, mechanical properties and tolerances on dimensions that help you achieve precision in terms of product functionality and specification.
As a user of BS EN 754-1, you can be ensured of property limits of aluminium and aluminium alloys. With obedience and compliance to BS EN 754-1, you can efficiently manufacture high-quality aluminium cold drawn rod/bar and tube. BS EN 754-1 helps you to build consumer trust and confidence in the product. With BS EN 754-1 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets. BS EN 754-1 provides you with comprehensive information useful throughout the process of production.
