What is BS EN IEC 60152 about?
BS EN IEC 60152 is an international standard that focuses on the improvement of electronic products and electric distribution. BS EN IEC 60152 specifies methods and rules for the designation of phase difference between two items in a three-phase AC system. The designations are intended to be applied in the technical documentation of industrial installations, equipment, and products markings of equipment and products.
Who is BS EN IEC 60152 for?
BS EN IEC 60152 on the designation of phase differences by hour numbers in three-phase AC systems applies to:
- Professionals who are involved in industrial heavy equipment installations
- Electrical engineers
Why should you use 60152?
BS EN IEC 60152 is intended to be a guide for technical installations of equipment and phase differences. BS EN IEC 60152 helps you differentiate the connections of the three-phase AC system. With the guidance of BS EN IEC 60152, you can designate these connections to supply power to the suitable electronic equipment as per their power rating.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN IEC 60152:2021 replaces IEC 60152:1963. BS EN IEC 60152 includes the following significant technical changes with respect to IEC 60152:1963:
- The title has been updated to reflect the content of the document
- The concept of identifying conductors with hour number has been removed as the concept is considered out of date and other means for identifying conductors exists
- Definition of hour number (clock number) and phase difference introduced
