What is BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 - Industrial-process control valves about?
BS EN IEC 60534 is a series on industrial-process control valves. The industrial-process control valve is a valve used to control fluid flow by varying the size of the flow passage as directed by a signal from a controller. BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 specifies face-to-face (FTF) and centre-to-face (CTF) dimensions for given nominal sizes and pressure ratings of flanged, two-way, globe-type, straight pattern, and angle pattern control valves.
The nominal sizes included are DN 15 to DN 400 for straight pattern control valves and DN 15 to DN 400 for angle pattern control valves.
Who is BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 - Industrial-process control valves for?
BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 on Industrial-process control valves is applicable to:
- Liquid-based industries
- Gas-based industries
- Industries with high-pressure operations
- Industries with high-temperature operations
- Design engineers
Why should you use BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 - Industrial-process control valves?
Industrial-process control valves enable the direct control of flow rate and the consequential control of process quantities such as pressure, temperature, and liquid level. BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 implementation ensures the pressure control, flow, and temperature control in order to make the process continue for a longer period without any failure and risk.
Due to the automatic function of these valves with the help of BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1, there is a great reduction in the wastage of resources. No matter wherever industrial-process control valves are used in industrial sectors or in the manufacturing process or at homes, BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 will ensure less wastage of resources. Using BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 you can specify two-way, globe-type, straight pattern, and angle pattern control valves.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1:2019 supersedes BS EN 60534‑3‑1:2000. BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1:2019 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 60534‑3‑1:2000. These include:
- BS EN IEC 60534‑3‑1 has been extended to cover face-to-face dimensions and centre-to-face dimensions for control valves PN 160 and PN 250 (Class 900 and 1500)
- Definitions of end-to-end dimensions and centre-to-end dimensions have been added for valves with flange facings where the gasket contact surfaces are not located at the extreme ends of the valve
- Table 5 of adjustment value “X” for end-to-end dimensions of straight pattern valves with ring joint ends has been added
