What is BS EN IEC 60665 - A.C. ventilating fans and regulators about?
BS EN IEC 60665 discusses A.C. ventilating fans and regulators for household and similar purposes. A.C. ventilating fans and regulators for household and similar purposes are used for removing heat and controlling the humidity of air in an enclosed space to achieve a more comfortable interior environment by use of powered "air conditioners" or a variety of other methods, including passive cooling and ventilative cooling.
BS EN IEC 60665 specifies the performance and the corresponding methods of test of AC ventilating fans for household and similar purposes intended for air forcing and exhaust, driven by single-phase AC motors having a power consumption of less than 125 W (including any associated regulators) for use on single-phase AC circuits not exceeding 250 V. BS EN IEC 60665 applies to ventilate fans such as partition fans for walls and windows and duct fans.
Note: BS EN IEC 60665 does not apply to:
- The safety of electric fans for household and similar purposes
- The performance of comfort fans
- Range hoods and other cooking fume extractors
- Airborne acoustic noise for fans
- Electromagnetic compatibility of fans
Who is BS EN IEC 60665 - A.C. ventilating fans and regulators for?
BS EN IEC 60665 on A.C. ventilating fans and regulators is applicable to:
- AC fan manufacturers
- AC regulators manufacturers
- Design engineers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use BS EN IEC 60665 - A.C. ventilating fans and regulators?
Air conditioners, which typically use vapour compression refrigeration, range in size from small units used within vehicles or single rooms to massive units that can cool large buildings. BS EN IEC 60665 implementation allows users to bring fresh air from outside and into the enclosed space and vent out the air which is inside. It helps circulate air through the building or home, which prevents individuals from breathing stuffy, less oxygenated air.
BS EN IEC 60665 also ensures the cooling of the surroundings, removal of odours, protecting belongings and eliminating the chemical fumes from the surrounding air to make the air that we breathe healthy and breathable. Using BS EN IEC 60665 you can specify the performance and the corresponding methods of test of AC ventilating fans for household and similar purposes.
