What is BS EN IEC 60704-2-18 - Airborne acoustical noise test code about?
BS EN IEC 60704-2-18 discusses household and similar electrical appliances and test code for the determination of airborne acoustical noise with a focus on particular requirements for electric water heaters.
BS EN IEC 60704-2-18 is the second part of the BS EN IEC 60704 multi-series on household and similar electrical appliances that apply to single-unit electric water heaters for household and similar use intended for placing on the floor against a wall, for building-in or placing under a counter, a kitchen worktop or under a sink, for wall-mounting or on a counter.
Who is BS EN IEC 60704-2-18 - Airborne acoustical noise test code for?
BS EN IEC 60704-2-18 on airborne acoustical noise test code is useful for:
- Airborne sound transmission researchers
- Household and similar electrical appliances manufacturers
- Acoustic and thermal insulating companies
- Civil engineers
Why should you use BS EN IEC 60704-2-18- Airborne acoustical noise test code?
Airborne is transmitted through the air and atmosphere and experienced through the likes of people talking, the noise of television, etc.
The measuring conditions specified in BS EN IEC 60704-2-18 provide for sufficient accuracy in determining the noise emitted and comparing the results of measurements taken by different laboratories whilst simulating, as far as possible, the practical use of household water heaters. BS EN IEC 60704-2-18 recommends the user consider the determination of noise levels as part of a comprehensive testing procedure covering many aspects of the properties and performance of dry-cleaning robots.
Overall, BS EN IEC 60704-2-18 is helpful as it describes the robot which is fitted for cleaning carpets or hard floors, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The robot is free of dust or particles from the previous user to the extent that a normal end-user could achieve. The loading of the robot consists of the standard hard floor or the standard Wilton test carpet bounded by a fence.
