What is BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 about?
BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 is a part of multi-series in European standard which lays down requirements for the design qualification of terrestrial photovoltaic modules suitable for long-term operation in open-air climates. The useful service life of modules so qualified will depend on their design, their environment and the conditions under which they are operated.
BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 gives you the various types of testing such as endurance testing, mechanical testing, damp-heat test, performance testing, crystals type testing and thermal cycling testing for testing of crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules
Note 1: BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 is intended to apply to all crystalline silicon terrestrial flat plate modules
Note 2: BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 does not apply to modules used with concentrated sunlight although it may be utilized for low concentrator modules. For low concentration modules, all tests are performed using the irradiance, current, voltage and power levels expected at the design concentration.
Who is BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 for?
BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 on crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules is applicable to:
- Manufactures and suppliers of crystalline silicon
- Companies dealing with solar cells/panels
- Retailers and dealers of photovoltaic modules/crystalline silicon
- Microelectronics technology industries
Why should you use BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1?
Crystalline Silicon photovoltaic modules are built by using crystalline silicon power cells, which are developed from Microelectronics technology industries. Crystalline silicon photovoltaic is the most used photovoltaic technology.
BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 gives you the provisions to amplify the functionality and quality of crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules with various types of testing such as endurance testing, mechanical testing, damp-heat test, performance testing, crystals type testing and thermal cycling testing, etc. It enables you to ensure the accountability factors of manufacturing the good quality of crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules that are in compliance with the global standards.
BS EN IEC 61215‑1‑1 serves the purpose of determining the electrical characteristics of the module and to show, as far as possible within reasonable constraints of cost and time, that the module is capable of withstanding prolonged exposure outdoors.
What’s changed since the last update?
