What is BS EN IEC 62343‑3‑4 - Dynamic modules about?
BS EN IEC 62343 is a series on dynamic modules. Dynamic modules are nothing more than a module created at run-time, with the same exact properties as a static module, plus one additional property called a module. BS EN IEC 62343‑3‑4 provides a performance specification template for multicast optical switches. The object is to provide a framework for the preparation of performance specifications or product specifications of multicast optical switches. Specification parameters required in BS EN IEC 62343‑3‑4 are considered essential in the product specifications or performance specifications.
Who is BS EN IEC 62343‑3‑4 - Dynamic modules for?
BS EN IEC 62343‑3‑4 on dynamic modules is useful for:
- Telecommunication sector
- Telecommunication component manufacturers
- Design engineers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use BS EN IEC 62343‑3‑4 - Dynamic modules?
Multicast switches help route optical channels between the wavelength selective switches and add/drop ports in reconfigurable optical networks. A multicast optical switch (MCOS) is a dynamic module (DM), which is mainly used in a reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer (ROADM) system to realize colourless, directionless and contention less (CDC) function. A multicast optical switch functions as an optical switch and a non-wavelength selective fibre optic branching device. The technical information regarding multicast optical switches and their applications in dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems are described in IEC TR 62343-6-4.
BS EN IEC 62343‑3‑4 discusses the Functional block diagram of the multicast optical switch, Representation of latency time, rise time, fall time, bounce time, and switching time, which also includes tables for general performance specification template for the multicast optical switch, optical performance specification template for the multicast optical switch, electrical and communication performance specification template for the multicast optical switch and mechanical performance specification template for the multicast optical switch. Using BS EN IEC 62343‑3‑4 you can understand the specification template for multicast optical switches.
