What is BS EN IEC 62386-222 – Digital addressable lighting about?
BS EN IEC 62386-222 is a European standard that discusses the particular requirements for control gear of thermal lamp protection.
BS EN IEC 62386-222 specifies a bus system for control by digital signals of electronic lighting equipment which is in line with the requirements of IEC 61347 (all parts), with the addition of DC supplies.
BS EN IEC 62386-222 is only applicable to IEC 62386-102:2014 and IEC 62386-102:2014/AMD1 control gear that implements thermal lamp protection.
Note: BS EN IEC 62386-222 does not include Requirements for testing individual products during production.
Who is BS EN IEC 62386-222 – Digital addressable lighting for?
BS EN IEC 62386-222 on Control gear of Thermal lamp protection applies to:
- Manufacturer of electronic lamp control gear
- Manufacturer of lamp control gear
- Quality check personnel
- Electronic engineer
Why should you use BS EN IEC 62386-222 – Digital addressable lighting?
Digital Addressable Lighting Interface is a dedicated protocol for digital lighting control that enables the easy installation of robust, scalable and flexible lighting networks.
BS EN IEC 62386-222 navigates you through the thermal lamp behaviour such as thermal lamp overload, thermal lamp shutdown and Failure status. Thermal lamp overload occurs when the lamp temperature rises above Tovl, the control gear shall enter the overload state. Thermal lamp shutdown occurs when the lamp temperature rises above Tshut, the control gear shall enter the shutdown state. Failure status is a status byte that is updated regularly by the control gear and reflects the actual situation without delay unless explicitly stated otherwise.
BS EN IEC 62386-222 provides you with comprehensive information useful for controlling the gear of thermal lamp protection. With obedience and compliance to BS EN IEC 62386-222, you can achieve precision in terms of product functionality.
