What is BS EN IEC 62631-3-11-Determination of resistive properties (DC methods) about?
BS EN IEC 62631-3-11 is an international standard that discusses the dielectric and resistive properties of solid insulating materials.
This part of IEC 62631 covers a method of test for the determination of volume resistance and volume resistivity of electrical insulation materials by applying DC voltage.
Who is BS EN IEC 62631-3-11- Determination of resistive properties (DC methods) for?
BS EN IEC 62631-3-11 on dielectric and resistive properties is relevant to:
- Manufacturers of insulating materials
- Manufacturers of electrical applications
- Quality testing personnel
- Product design engineers
- Electrical engineers
Why should you use BS EN IEC 62631-3-11-Determination of resistive properties(DC methods)?
Many segments of the electrotechnical industry need volume resistance and volume resistivity data of solid insulating materials. The materials applicable to this test are used to impregnate or coat coils made from enamelled copper or aluminium wire to fix the coils, protect them from humidity, dirt, and other environmental influence. The method described in BS EN IEC 62631-3-11 is used for impregnation and coating materials.
BS EN IEC 62631-3-11 provides the procedure for volume resistivity as function of temperature. Volume resistance and volume resistivity can be used as an aid in the choice of insulating material for a specific application.
Overall, compliance with BS EN IEC 62631-3-11 can assist you in coating materials that reduce friction, have high durability, and help to protect against the damage caused by wear-prone applications.
