What is BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 – USB Audio 3.0 about?
Audio technology is constantly evolving so that listeners can enjoy music in more convenient ways. BS EN IEC 62680 series discusses standards for universal serial bus interfaces for data and power. BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 covers common components of The universal serial bus (USB) Audio 3.0 device class definition functions.
The USB audio device class definition for basic audio functions applies to all USB audio functions that are based on the universal serial bus device class definition for audio devices release 3.0.
BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 is used to create a higher level of interoperability among hosts and audio devices. By establishing a set of essential audio features, users can expect a consistent experience, device manufacturers have a solid template to follow, and host drivers may be simplified.
BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 creates the basic audio device definition (BADD), which is based on, compliant with, and ansubset of the Audio 3.0 specification. It defines a baseline behavior for basic audio functions and contains a set of rules, normative limitations, and informative descriptions that are applied to the audio 3.0 specification to define a specific scope and use for this specification.
Who is BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 - USB Audio 3.0 for?
BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 on USB Audio 3.0 is useful for:
- USB device manufacturers
- Hardware / software engineers
- USB technology operators
- Audio device manufacturers
- Product development teams
Why should you use BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 - USB Audio 3.0?
The USB device class definition for audio devices is designed to cover virtually all audio functions and make them controllable via USB. USB Audio 3.0 interfaces provide better performance is because of the way they handle data polling. In other words, USB Audio 3.0 reduces your audio latency by a few ticks.
BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 facilitates the development of high-quality compatible USB devices, and promotes the benefits of USB and the quality of products that have passed compliance testing.
BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 guides you with the audio functions which include transfer delimiter, service interval, and service interval packet definitions, simple audio data formats, and extended audio data formats.
BS EN IEC 62680-1-6 is a step towards providing users with a superior audio experience.
