What is BS EN IEC 62868‑2‑2about?
BS EN IEC 62868‑2‑2 is a part of European standard which specifies the safety requirements for integrated organic light-emitting diode (OLED) modules for use on ripple free DC supplies up to 1 000 V or AC supplies up to 1 000 V RMS at 50 Hz or 60Hz.
BS EN IEC 62868‑2‑2 specifies general, test and other requirements, marking, construction, mechanical hazard, fault conditions, and other technicalities such as insulation resistance, electric strength, thermal stress, creepage distances and clearances as well as photobiological safety.
Who is BS EN IEC 62868‑2‑2 for?
BS EN IEC 62868-2-2 on integrated organic light emitting diode (OLED) is beneficial for:
- Companies dealing with setting up electrical light modules
- Manufactures of electrical modules
- Service providers and installers for electrical modules
- Retailers and distributors of electrical part for light sources
Why should you use BS EN IEC 62868-2-2?
An LED where the light is emitted by the organic modules is called and organic light emitting diode (OLED).
BS EN IEC 62868-2-2 gives you the particular requirements for integrated organic light emitting diode (OLED)such as insulating resistance, thermal stress, resistance to heat and fire, resistance to corrosion. This helps you ensure the longevity, high efficiency and class of your luminaires and lighting products. BS EN IEC 62868-2-2 also guides you on safety measures to be taken in account while designing the luminaire, for protection against accidental contact with live parts, resistance to corrosion, and gives provisions for protective earthing.
