What is BS EN IEC 62868-2-3 about?
BS EN IEC 62868-2-3 is a part of European standard which specifies the safety requirements for flexible organic light emitting diode tiles and panels for use on supplies up to 120 V ripple free DC for indoor and similar general lighting purposes and designed for being bent during the manufacturing process of curved luminaires.
BS EN IEC 62868-2-3 specifies general requirements and test requirements, marking, construction mechanical hazards, fault conditions etc. for flexible organic LED tiles and panels and luminaires.
Who is BS EN IEC 62868-2-3 for?
BS EN IEC 62868-2-3 on flexible organic light emitting diode (FOLED) is beneficial for:
- Companies dealing with setting up electrical light modules
- Manufacturers of FOLED
- Manufacturers of electrical modules
- Service providers and installers for electrical modules
- Retailers and distributors of electrical part for light sources
Why should you use BS EN IEC 62868-2-3?
A flexible organic light-emitting diode (flexible LED or FOLED) is an instrument that emits light designed with a flexible material, such as a reflective metal foil or clear plastic film instead of using any other heavy glass. BS EN IEC 62868-2-3 guides you on various requirements such as mechanical strength, vibration test, strength and impact test so that you get a clearer structure to enhance the calibre of flexible organic light emitting diode tiles and panels.
BS EN IEC 62868-2-3 also provides guidance about mechanical hazard, resistance to dust, solid objects and moisture which helps you reduce the risk factors and manufacture a relatively inexpensive product in a standardized manner
