What is BS EN IEC 63128 on Analogue voltage dimming interface about?
BS EN IEC 63128 is an international standard that covers specifications for a good quality lighting control interface for dimming.
BS EN IEC 63128 specifies the analogue control interface of control gear which has the function of controlling the output of the control gear. The output of the control gear is controlled between minimum/off and maximum values by the voltage control device sinking the control gear current source.
BS EN IEC 63128 specifies technicalities like terms, definitions, general tests remarks, marking system, system description, etc. for an analogue voltage dimming interface for electronic current sourcing control gear.
Note: BS EN IEC 63128 does not specify safety requirements for the analogue interface of control gear.
Who is BS EN IEC 63128 on Analogue voltage dimming interface for?
BS EN IEC 63128 on Analogue voltage dimming interface is useful for:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of Lighting control dimmers
- Dealers and distributors of Lighting control dimmers
- Designers of Lighting control dimmers
- Services/test providers for Lighting control dimmers
Why should you use BS EN IEC 63128 on Analogue voltage dimming interface?
Dimming controllers are very effective for decreasing the output and energy consumption of light sources. An Analog voltage dimming interface is probably the least complex method of dimming to execute and imply.
BS EN IEC 63128 is intended for you to specify the technicalities for an analogue voltage dimming interface that can control the output result of the control gear. It gives you the requirements and tolerances for the test procedures, to simply adjust the analogue voltage on the current adjust pin on an LED driver in order to get the desired lighting output.
Thus, users of BS EN IEC 63128 can follow it to acquire an efficient, simple, and yet reliable lighting control interface using analogue voltage dimming interface, that is in compliance with the international standards.
