What is BS EN IEC 63155 about?
BS EN IEC 63155 is an international standard used for radio frequency applications that specifies the power durability of surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) devices.
BS EN IEC 63155 defines the measurement method for the determination of the durability of radio frequency (RF) surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) devices, such as filters and duplexers, with respect to high power RF signals, which are used in telecommunications, measuring equipment, radar systems and consumer products. RF BAW devices include two types: those based on the film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) technology and those based on the solidly mounted resonator (SMR) technology.
BS EN IEC 63155 includes basic properties of failure of RF SAW/BAW devices, and guidelines to set up the measurement system and to establish the procedure to estimate the time to failure (TF).
Note: It is not the aim of this document to explain the theory, or to attempt to cover all the eventualities that can arise in practical circumstances.
Who is BS EN IEC 63155 for?
BS EN IEC 63155 on Guidelines for the measurement method of power durability for surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) devices in radio frequency (RF) applications
is useful for:
- Manufacturer of surface acoustic wave devices
- Manufacturer of bulk acoustic wave devices
- Manufacturer of electronic communication devices
- Manufacturer of radiofrequency devices
- Chemical factories
- Oil refineries
Why should you use BS EN IEC 63155?
Radio frequencies are used in communication devices. These radio frequencies are also applied in carrier current systems including telephonic and control circuits.
BS EN IEC 63155 is useful in detecting the failure which will help you in improving the performance of surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) devices. BS EN IEC 63155 helps you in resisting electrodes by scattering acoustic waves and helps in thermal designing which will help in resisting heat in surface acoustic wave (SAW) and bulk acoustic wave (BAW) devices. BS EN IEC 63155 assists in determining the advanced frequency at which RF power is given during TF testing.
BS EN IEC 63155 will help you in characterizing the bulk acoustic wave (BAW) which is generated by a pair of electrodes. This frequency division duplex system helps you in receiving and transmitting a signal simultaneously through a common antenna.
Using BS EN IEC 63155, you will be able to classify the general and fundamental characteristics. BS EN IEC 63155 can be your best guide in conducting the tests of RF SAW/BAW filters.
