What is BS EN IEC 63252 about?
BS EN IEC 63252 discusses the energy consumption of vending machines. BS EN IEC 63252 defines methods for the measurement of energy consumption of vending machines, whether fitted with refrigerating appliances.
Note 1: BS EN IEC 63252 applies (but is not limited) to the following categories of machines:
- Refrigerated closed-fronted can and bottle machines where the products are held in stacks
- Refrigerated glass-fronted can and bottle, confectionery, and snack machines
- Refrigerated glass-fronted machines entirely for perishable foodstuffs
- Refrigerated dual-temperature glass-fronted machines
- Confectionery and snack machines that are not refrigerated
- Combination machines consisting of two dissimilar categories of the machine in the same housing and powered by one chiller
Note 2: The following types of vending machines are excluded from BS EN IEC 63252:
- Drink machines dispensing hot and/or cold drinks into cups
- Machines with a food-heating function
- Vending machines operating at temperatures below 0 °C
- Any machine including one or more of these compartments
Note 3: For verification purposes, BS EN IEC 63252 is essential to apply all the tests specified to a single unit. The tests can also be made individually for the study of a particular characteristic.
Note 4: BS EN IEC 63252 does not deal with any characteristics of machine design other than energy consumption.
Who is BS EN IEC 63252 for?
BS EN IEC 63252 on energy consumption of vending machines is useful for:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of vending machines.
- Quality control laboratories
- Service provides
Why should you use BS EN IEC 63252?
BS EN IEC 63252 provides methods for measuring the energy consumption of vending machines that help to save about 1,000 kWh of energy annually.
The vending machine uses anywhere from 7-14 kWh per day for cold drinks, which can be an average of $250-500 per year for running. BS EN IEC 63252 provides methods for measuring the energy consumption for the vending machine, that helps to reduce your operating costs and save energy.
In the manufacturing process of vending machines measuring energy is important, BS EN IEC 63252 provides methods of measuring energy consumption that helps to manufacture low energy consumption vending machines by considering the requirement of the consumer.
The overall purpose of BS EN IEC 63252 is the measurement of the energy consumption of vending machines, which helps to reduce energy demand and consumption.
