What is ISO 11904‑2 about?
ISO 11904‑2 is second part of ISO 11904 multi-series. ISO 11904 is a series of standards that specify methods for the determination of sound immissions from sources located close to the ear in which situations the sound pressure level is measured at the position of the exposed person. ISO 11904‑2 is applicable to exposure to sound from sources close to the ear, for example during equipment tests or at the workplace to sound from earphones or hearing protectors with audio communication facilities.
ISO 11904‑2 specifies basic framework measurement methods for sound immission from sound sources placed close to the ear. These measurements are carried out with a manikin, equipped with ear simulators including microphones.
ISO 11904‑2 is applicable in the frequency range from 20 Hz to 10 kHz.
Who is ISO 11904‑2 for?
ISO 11904‑2 on the determination of acoustics is useful for:
- Sound technicians
- Acoustical engineer
- Audio equipment manufacturers
Why should you use ISO 11904‑2?
When workplace situations are measured, the various noise sources contributing to the immission should be identified.
ISO 11904‑2 helps users by specifying basic framework measurement methods for sound immission from sound sources placed close to the ear.
ISO 11904‑2 provides you with measuring methods and test procedures for minimizing the risk of hearing impairment due to the sound immission from sound sources placed close to the ear.
