What is ISO 12153 - Welding Consumables Tubular cored electrodes about?
ISO 12153 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for the classification of tubular cored electrodes for metal arc welding with or without a gas shield of nickel and nickel alloys. It includes those compositions in which the nickel content exceeds that of any other element.
Who is ISO 12153 - Welding Consumables-Tubular cored electrodes for?
ISO 12153 on the classification of tubular cored electrodes for gas shielded and non-gas shielded metal arc welding of nickel and nickel alloys is useful for:
- Fabrication plants
- Welding workshops
- Welding equipment manufacturers
- Metal industries
Why should you use ISO 12153 - Welding Consumables Tubular cored electrodes?
There are two types of flux-cored wire electrodes: gas-shielded and non-gas shielded. As its name implies, the gas-shielded type of flux-cored wire requires an external shielding gas. The self-shielded variety does not. The flux coating on gas-shielded flux-cored wires solidifies faster than the molten weld material.
Compliance with ISO 12153 can help you standardize the classification of symbols, chemical composition, and mechanical properties of tubular cored electrodes for gas shielded and non-gas shielded metal arc welding of nickel and nickel alloys and help prevent misinterpretation and miscommunication, eliminate the ambiguity in metal arc welding of nickel and nickel alloys. This helps you to get good quality and long service life for the welded joint.
Compliance with ISO 12153 helps you improve the quality of tubular cored electrodes for gas shielded and non-gas shielded metal arc welding of nickel and nickel alloys.
