What is ISO 12671 about?
ISO 12671 specifies how the symbolic representation of thermally sprayed coatings is indicated on drawings.
Without overburdening the design with notes or displaying an additional view or detail enlargement, ISO 12671 provides symbolic representation that clearly gives all the necessary indications regarding the exact coating to be produced.
Who is ISO 12671 for?
ISO 12671 on thermal spraying is useful for:
- Manufacturers of thermal spraying machines and equipment
- Steel Construction Industry
- Structure and bridge construction
- Steel structures for water construction
- Onshore and offshore wind energy constructions
- Petrol and natural gas industry
Why should you use ISO 12671?
Clear drawings with neat labels can significantly improve designs and reduce time. ISO 12671 assists design engineers to communicate the design requirements of thermally sprayed coatings on metal.
ISO 12671 improves the quality of thermally sprayed coatings processes by standard symbolic representation on drawings.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN ISO 12671:2021 supersedes BS EN ISO 12671:2014, which is withdrawn.
The main change compared with the previous edition is as follows:
- The designation examples and figures have been updated in accordance with the latest thermal spray terminology and material standards
