What is ISO 13056 - Leak-tightness test for thermoplastics piping systems about?
ISO 13056 is the international standard on plastic piping systems that discusses an assembly of pipes and fittings that is subjected to partial vacuum for a specific period during which the joints are inspected for airtightness.
ISO 13056 specifies a method for testing the leak-tightness under the vacuum of joints for thermoplastics piping systems.
NOTE: ISO 13056 is applicable to piping systems based on thermoplastic pipes intended to be used in hot and cold-water pressure applications.
Who is ISO 13056 - Leak-tightness test for thermoplastics piping systems for?
ISO 13056 on plastics piping systems is useful for:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of pipeline components and pipelines
- Manufacturers and suppliers of plastics
- Personnel of water supply systems
- Manufacturers of thermoplastic polymers
Why should you use ISO 13056 - Leak-tightness test for thermoplastics piping systems?
A plastic pipe is a tubular section, or hollow cylinder, made of plastic used mainly to convey substances that can flow—liquids and gases (fluids).
ISO 13056 provides the apparatus requirements and an assembly of pipes and fittings capable of measuring the pressure and temperature.
ISO 13056 specifies the preparation of test pieces, the number and conditioning of pipes and fittings to check leak-tightness under vacuum.
ISO 13056 guides you through the test procedure and report on the measured pressure, temperature, and test time of plastics piping systems for hot and cold water to test leak-tightness.
Furthermore, ISO 13056 allows you to manufacture and test plastic pipes ensuring leak-tightness for hot and cold water for flexible and reliable use in the commercial and industrial sector. In this way, you will achieve higher efficiency, high test reliability and long-life performance of plastic pipes ensuring resistance to corrosion, chemicals and microbial attacks hence cheaper to install and maintain.
