What is ISO 13259 about?
ISO 13259 specifies a test method for determining the leak tightness of elastomeric sealing ring type joints for buried thermoplastics non-pressure piping systems.
ISO 13259 also describes the following four test conditions under which the tests are performed:
- Condition A: without any additional diametric or angular deflection.
- Condition B: with diametric deflection
- Condition C: with angular deflection
- Condition D: with simultaneous angular and diametric deflection.
Note: The applicable selection of the test pressure(s) and the test condition(s) is/are specified in the referring standard.
Who is ISO 13259 for?
ISO 13259 on test method for leak tightness of elastomeric sealing ring type joints for buried thermoplastics non-pressure piping systems is applicable to:
- Thermoplastics piping systems manufacturers
- Thermoplastics piping systems suppliers
- Entities dealing with the thermoplastics piping system
Why should you use ISO 13259?
Thermoplastic Piping Systems are environmentally sound, easy, and safe to install, reliable, long-lasting, and cost-effective. Thermoplastic piping is most common in non-industrial underground applications throughout the world. To avoid the potential problems from occurring it’s important to conduct leak tightness of the elastomeric sealing ring type joints for buried thermoplastics non-pressure piping systems.
ISO 13259 specifies test methods to test the tightness of elastomeric sealing ring joints for buried thermoplastics non-pressure piping systems.
ISO 13259 helps its buyers, with the test method for leak tightness of elastomeric sealing ring type joints which reduces the risk factors ensuring the safety of the users for buried thermoplastics non-pressure piping systems.
Determining leak tightness as per ISO 13259 not only increases trust and reliability but also helps in improving the efficiency and reducing repair costs of non-pressure piping systems.
