What is ISO 1402 about?
ISO 1402 discusses about Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies. ISO 1402 specifies methods for the hydrostatic testing of rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies, including methods for the determination of dimensional stability.
ISO 1402 gives general requirements such as apparatus to be used, test pieces for hoses and hoses assembly, leakage test, burst pressure and procedure for application of hydrostatic pressure for testing of rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies.
Who is ISO 1402 for?
ISO 1402 on rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies - Hydrostatic testing
- Rubber and plastic hose manufacturers and suppliers
- PVC hose pipe manufacturers and suppliers
- Entities dealing plastic hose assembly and hoses
- Test providers for plastic and rubber hoses and tubes
Why should you use ISO 1402:2021?
Hydrostatic testing includes filling up a pressure vessel thoroughly with water and pressurizing it to inspect leakages on pressure vessels.
ISO 1402 provides you elaborated information about methods for the hydrostatic testing, including methods for the determination of dimensional stability of rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies, that helps you clarify any leakages and build up a defect-free product.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN ISO 1402:2021 supersedes EN ISO 1402:2009, which is withdrawn.
The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:
- The tolerances of the pressure in Figure 3, 7.2.2, 8.1 and 8.2 have been revised
- The description of the failure mode in 8.3 has been revised.
