What is ISO 14469 - Refuelling connector about?
ISO 14469 is an international standard on compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling connectors that discuss the requirements of refueling nozzles and receptacles. ISO 14469 specifies CNG refuelling nozzles and receptacles constructed entirely of new and unused parts and materials, for road vehicles powered by compressed natural gas. A CNG refuelling connector consists of, as applicable, the receptacle and its protective cap (mounted on the vehicle), and the nozzle.
ISO 14469 applies only to such devices designed for a service pressure of 20 MPa (200 bar) and 25 MPa (250 bar), to those using CNG according to ISO 15403-1 and ISO 15403-2 and having standardized mating components, and to connectors that prevent natural gas vehicles from being fuelled by dispensers with service pressures higher than that of the vehicle while allowing them to be fuelled by dispensers with service pressures less than or equal to the vehicle fuel system service pressure.
ISO 14469 refers to service pressures of 20 MPa and 25 MPa for:
- Size 1: B200 and B250
- Size 2: C200 and C250
NOTE: All references to pressures, given in megapascals and bar are considered gauge pressures unless otherwise specified.
Who is ISO 14469 - Refuelling connector for?
ISO 14469 on compressed natural gas (CNG) refueling connector is relevant to:
- Manufacturer of refueling connector
- Compressed natural gas (CNG) station
Why should you use ISO 14469- Refuelling connector?
Fueling nozzles and receptacles are components that attach to either the fuel source or the receiving tank to permit the transfer of liquid or gaseous fuels. They are designed for use with fuel dispensing equipment in automotive, aerospace, motorsport, transportation, and power generation applications.
ISO 14469 provides guidance on general construction requirements, nozzles, standard receptacle dimensions, receptacles, tests.
As a user of ISO 14469, you can be ensured of all the requirements of refueling nozzles and receptacles. With obedience and compliance to ISO 14469, you can efficiently manufacture and install high-quality refueling nozzles and receptacles which is functionally compatible from a safety and performance perspective with all listed receptacles of compatible profile and system pressure for road vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). ISO 14469 helps you to build consumer trust and confidence in the product. With ISO 14469 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets. ISO 14469 helps you achieve precision in terms of products specification.
