What is ISO 14647 - Determination of porosity in gold coatings on Nitric acid vapor test about?
ISO 14647 specifies the equipment and a method for using nitric acid vapor to determine porosity in gold coatings, particularly electrodeposits and clad metals used on electrical contacts.
ISO 14647 method is designed to show whether the porosity level is less than or greater than some value that, by experience, is considered by the user to be acceptable for the intended application.
ISO 14647 is suitable for inlays or claddings containing 75% or more of gold, for electrodeposits containing 95% or more of gold, or for substrates of copper, nickel, and their alloys that are commonly used in electrical contacts.
Who is ISO 14647 - Determination of porosity in gold coatings on Nitric acid vapor for?
ISO 14647 on determination of porosity in gold coatings on Nitric acid vapor test is useful for:
- Chemical laboratories
- Chemical industries
- Metallic coating factories
Why should you use ISO 14647 - Determination of porosity in gold coatings on Nitric acid vapor test?
ISO 14647 guidance provides the method for using nitric acid vapor in gold coating to define porosity.
Overall, ISO 14647 guidance helps to provide a procedure method that is designed to show whether the porosity level is less than or greater than some value.
