What is ISO 14880-1 about?
ISO 14880-1 is the first part of the ISO 14880 series of standards that applies to microlens arrays. ISO 14880-1 applies to microlens arrays which consist of arrays of very small lenses formed inside or on one or more surfaces of a common substrate and systems. ISO 14880-1 improves the compatibility and interchangeability of lens arrays from different suppliers and enhances the development of technology using microlens arrays.
Who is ISO 14880-1 for?
ISO 14880-1 on microlens array is useful for:
- Microlens manufacturer
- Microlens supplier
- Microlens purchaser
Why should you use ISO 14880-1?
Micro-optics and microlens arrays are found in many modern optical devices and can have mass-market applications, for example in 2D and 3D televisions, mobile phones, and portable computer displays. They are used to enhance the optical performance of liquid crystal displays to couple arrays of light sources and to direct illumination. ISO 14880-1 aims to satisfy the needs of the expanded market in microlens arrays to agree on basic terms and definitions for microlens arrays and systems.
