Why should you use ISO 14880‑1 - Microlens arrays vocabulary?
The expanded market in microlens arrays has generated a need to agree on basic terms and definitions for microlens arrays and systems and ISO 14880‑1 aims to satisfy that need. ISO 14880‑1 aims to improve the compatibility and interchangeability of lens arrays from different suppliers and to enhance the development of technology using microlens arrays. ISO 14880‑1 helps in describing the radiation propagation in a microlens array and uses the cartesian coordinate system for directing the propagation of the optical radiation. ISO 14880‑1 ensures the compatibility and interchangeability of lens arrays and enhances the development of technology using microlens arrays.
ISO 14880‑1 specifies the terms, definitions and symbols and units of measurements related to microlens arrays. With the help of ISO 14880‑1, you can understand the terms to be used in optic and photonic devices and this helps in communicating the needs to the suppliers which are needed in manufacturing these devices. Having access to common definitions and terminology across the industry facilitates and accelerates communication, research, and reporting across the industry. ISO 14880‑1 guidelines bring uniformity in reporting, documentation, research, innovation, and product development. Using ISO 14880‑1 you will be in a position to facilitate clear communication across the leather industry that, in turn, facilitates innovations.
