What is this ISO 15607 about?
ISO 15607 is an International standard that defines general rules for the specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials also refer to several other standards as regards detailed rules for specific applications.
ISO 15607 specifies the specification and qualification of welding procedures. enlisting a series of standards, the use of these standards, and a flow diagram for the development and qualification of Welding procedure specifications (WPS).
ISO 15607 is applicable to manual, partly mechanized, fully mechanized, and automated welding.
It is assumed that welding procedure specifications are used in production by competent welders, qualified in accordance with the relevant part of ISO 9606 or by competent operators qualified in accordance with ISO 14732.
Who is ISO 15607 standard for?
ISO 15607 on applicable for welding procedures for metallic materials is useful to:
- Automotive and other manufacturing industries
- Aerospace and Aircraft Manufacturer
- Construction and Infrastructure
- Railroad construction Industry
- Shipbuilding industry
- Industries where manual, partly mechanized, fully mechanized and automated welding applied
Why should you use ISO 15607 standard?
Welding procedures are qualified by conforming to one or more welding procedure qualification records (WPQR). The use of a particular method of qualification is often a requirement of an application standard.
ISO 15607 provides the specification and qualification of welding methods. Provides a set of standards, their application, and a flow diagram for developing and qualifying Welding procedure specifications (WPS).
ISO 15607 provides you best industry guidance on the effective use of welding procedure specifications (WPS) in order to achieve better planning of the welding operations and for quality control during welding.
