What is ISO 1598 – Determination of insoluble particles in cellulose acetate about?
ISO 1598 is an International Standard the discusses cellulose acetate.
ISO 1598 specifies a method for the determination of the number of visible particles (including all kind of contamination and black dirt) in cellulose acetate which are insoluble in a mixture of dimethylphthalate, dichloromethane and methanol and are of size 0.15 mm or larger.
Method mentioned in ISO 1598 is intended for cellulose acetate having an acetic acid yield above 50% and containing no additive which affect the test results.
Who is ISO 1598 - Determination of insoluble particles in cellulose acetate for?
ISO 1598 on determination of insoluble particles in cellulose acetate is relevant to:
- Thermosetting material and polymer manufacturers
- Cellulose acetate manufacturers
- Plastic industry
- Product designers
- Product development teams
- Quality control and testing authorities
Why should you use ISO 1598 - Determination of insoluble particles in cellulose acetate?
The presence of insoluble particles in cellulose acetate can have a significant effect on the compressibility, stability and performance of the end-product application.
ISO 1598 walks you through best industry guidance on test procedures to determine the presence of insoluble particles in cellulose acetate.
As a result, compliance with ISO 1598 methods can play a positive role in minimizing risk of product failures and degradation. Moreover, this assessment can make a positive contribution to your product development initiatives.
