What is ISO 17829 - Determination of length and diameter of pellets about?
Solid biofuels are derived from non-fossil, and organic materials which includes plant biomass, municipal waste, and animal waste which can be used to produce energy for heating, electricity generation or cooking. Pellets with a length, and diameter outside the specification can cause problems with transportation in screw conveyors, silo outlets, and burner feeding systems. ISO 17225-1, ISO 17225-2, ISO 17225-6, and ISO 17225-8 stipulate dimensions of pellets. ISO 17829 describes procedures for determination the diameter classification according to ISO 17225-2 as well as the length, and diameter of pellets.
ISO 17829 specifies the methods for the determination of diameter, and length of pellets. Concerning the pellet length methods for both determination of the proportion of oversized pellets, and for determination of the average length are included.
Who is ISO 17829 - Determination of length and diameter of pellets for?
ISO 17829 for determination of length and diameter of pellets is useful for:
- Transport sector
- Power plants
- Agricultural sector
- Energy generation
- Cleaning oil spills, and grease
Why should you use ISO 17829 - Determination of length and diameter of pellets?
It is essential to have access to reliable methods to determine the length, and diameter of pellets in solid biofuels to avoid any problems during transportation. ISO 17829 provides you with quality guidelines to prepare samples, follow procedures, and make calculations for the determination of the length, and diameter of pellets in solid biofuels.
