What is ISO 1833‑13 - Quantitative chemical analysis about?
ISO 1833 is an international standard on textiles that discusses quantitative chemical analysis. ISO 1833‑13 provides the best industry guidance on mixtures of certain chlorofibres with certain other fibres to ensure effective chemical analysis.
ISO 1833‑13 is the thirteenth part of the multi-series series that specifies a method, using carbon disulphide/acetone, to determine the mass percentage of chlorofibre, after removal of non-fibrous matter, in textiles made of mixtures of certain chlorofibres, with wool, animal hair, silk, cotton, viscose, cupro, modal, lyocell, polyamide, polyester, elastomultiester, melamine, polypropylene, polypropylene/polyamide bicomponent, polyacrylate and glass fibres.
Who is ISO 1833‑13 - Quantitative chemical analysis for?
ISO 1833‑13 on quantitative chemical analysis is useful for:
- Textile manufacturer
- Microbiologists
- Textile industry
- Textile testing laboratories
Why should you use ISO 1833‑13 Quantitative chemical analysis?
Any synthetic fibre made from the polymerization of a chlorinated monomer (especially from forms of polyvinyl chloride) is called chlorofiber.
ISO 1833‑13 provides you with a method for determining the quantitative chemical analysis of chlorofibres in textiles made with mixtures of chlorofibres, to remove sizing, finishing, and other nonfibrous materials.
ISO 183313 assists the fabric industries by providing the necessary methods and procedures to formulate superior and refined fabrics with cost-effective, cost-effective, and sustainable properties.
With compliance and obedience to ISO 1833‑13, you can efficiently do chemical analysis that enhances the efficacy of products and assist in manufacturing a standardized product of high quality.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN ISO 1833‑13:2019 supersedes ISO 1833-13:2006, which is withdrawn. BS EN ISO 1833‑13:2019 includes some technical changes compared to ISO 1833-13:2006. These include:
- The title has been changed from “Mixtures of certain chlorofibres and certain other fibres (method using carbon disulphide/acetone)” to “Mixtures of certain chlorofibres with certain other fibres (method using carbon disulphide/acetone)”
- In scope several remaining fibres and references on other methods used for analysing mixtures containing chlorofibes have been added
- In clause 5.2 “minimum 92 % by volume” has been added to ethanol
- In the test procedure a specific d factor for melamine and polyacrylate has been added
- In calculation and expression of result “percentage point” has been added to avoid confusion
