What is ISO 1833-15 Quantitative chemical analysis about?
ISO 1833-15 is the fifteenth part of the multi-series that specifies a method, by determining the nitrogen content, to calculate the proportion of each component, after the removal of non-fibrous matter, in textiles made of mixtures of jute with animal fibres.
Note: ISO 1833-15 does not apply to products in which dyestuffs or finishes contain nitrogen.
Who is ISO 1833-15 Quantitative chemical analysis for?
ISO 1833-15 on quantitative chemical analysis Mixtures of jute is useful for:
- Textile manufacturer
- Fabric industry
- Textile testing laboratories
Why should you use ISO 1833-15 Quantitative chemical analysis?
Jute fibres are totally biodegradable and recyclable materials, i.e., environmentally friendly materials. Jute fibres have good insulating properties for both thermal and acoustic energies with moderate moisture regain and no skin irritations.
ISO 1833-15 assists in the quantitative chemical analysis of jute mixtures referred to as retting, which is used to remove the non-fibrous material from jute stalks' stems and skins. Retting softens the stalks and separates them into fibrous and non-fibrous material.
ISO 1833-15 assists you by providing you with the necessary methods and procedures to formulate superior and refined jute fabric with cost-effective, durable, and sustainable properties.
With compliance and obedience to ISO 1833-15, you can efficiently do chemical analysis to enhance the efficacy of the jute products and manufacture a standardized product of high quality.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN ISO 1833-15:2019 supersedes ISO 1833‑15:2006, which is withdrawn. BS EN ISO 1833-15:2019 includes some technical changes compared to ISO 1833‑15:2006. These include:
- The title has been changed from “Mixtures of jute and certain animal fibres (the method by determining nitrogen content)” to “Mixtures of jute with certain animal fibres (the method by determining nitrogen content)”
- In Normative references reference to ISO 5089 for sampling principle has been added
- The mandatory Terms and definitions", has been added
- Calculation and expression of results has been corrected
