What is ISO 1833-16 - Quantitative chemical analysis about?
ISO 1833 is an international standard on textiles that discusses quantitative chemical analysis.
ISO 1833-16 provides the best industry guidance on mixtures of polypropylene fibres with certain other fibres to ensure efficient chemical analysis.
ISO 1833-16 is the sixteenth part of a multi-series standard that specifies a method, using xylene, to determine the mass percentage of polypropylene, after removal of non-fibrous matter, in textiles made of mixtures of polypropylene fibres with wool, animal hair, silk, cotton, viscose, cupro, modal, lyocell, acetate, triacetate, polyamide, polyester, acrylic, glass fibres, elastomultiester, melamine and polyacrylate.
Who is ISO 1833-16 - Quantitative chemical analysis for?
ISO 1833-16 on quantitative chemical analysis is relevant to:
- Polypropylene fibres manufacturers
- Fabric industries
- Polypropylene testing laboratories
Why should you use ISO 1833-16 - Quantitative chemical analysis?
Polypropylene fibre (PPF) is a kind of linear polymer synthetic fibre obtained from propylene polymerization.
ISO 1833-16 assists in the quantitative chemical analysis of polypropylene fibres with wool as polypropylene fibres has high chemical resistance property so combining with any fibre can be beneficial only for production purpose and quality aspect.
ISO 1833-16 assists you by providing you with the necessary methods and -procedures to formulate superior and refined fabrics with cost-effective, cost-effective, and sustainable properties.
With compliance and obedience to ISO 1833-16, you can efficiently do qualitative chemical analysis to enhance the efficacy of products and manufacture a standardized product of high quality.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN ISO 1833-16:2019 supersedes ISO 1833‑16:2006, which is withdrawn. BS EN ISO 1833-16:2019 includes some technical changes compared to ISO 1833‑16:2006. These include:
- Title has been changed from “Mixtures of polypropylene fibres and certain other fibres…” to “Mixtures of polypropylene fibres with certain other fibres”
- In scope some remaining fibres have been added
- A heating mantle device has been added
- Some precise details have been added in the test procedure
- Specific d factor for melamine and polyacrylate has been added
- Percentage point has been added to avoid confusion.
