What is ISO 1833-25 about?
ISO 1833 discusses the quantitative chemical analysis of textiles. ISO 1833-25 is the 25th part of the multi-series ISO 1833 and discusses mixtures of polyester with certain other fibres.
ISO 1833-25 specifies a method using trichloroacetic acid and chloroform to determine the mass percentage of polyester fibres after removal of non-fibrous matter, in textiles made of mixtures of polyester fibres aramid fibres (except polyamide-imide), flame retardant (FR) viscose and polyacrylate.
Who is ISO 1833-25 for?
ISO 1833-25 on quantitative chemical analysis of textile is useful for:
- Textile manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
- Testing laboratories
Why should you use ISO 1833-25?
Quantitative analysis is any method used for determining the amount of a chemical in a sample. The amount is always expressed as a number with appropriate units. An acid-base titration is an example of quantitative analysis. Polyester is a synthetic fabric that is usually derived from petroleum. This fabric is one of the world’s most popular textiles, and it is used in thousands of different consumer and industrial applications. Trichloroacetic acid, solid is a colourless crystalline solid. It absorbs moisture from the air and forms a syrup. It is soluble in water with the release of heat. It is corrosive to metals and tissue.
ISO 1833-25 provides the required guidance on conducting the determination quantitative chemical analysis of polyester including principles for performing the test, reagents, apparatus, and test procedures.
Polyester is durable and is resistant to many chemicals. So, quantitative chemical analysis is beneficial for ensuring the chemical's safety, quality, productivity, control, consistency, among other factors that affect everyday life. ISO 1833-25 helps you to manufacture better quality, safe, and durable products. ISO 1833-25 also helps you to gain consumer confidence.
What is changed since the last update?
