What is ISO 1833-29 about?
ISO 1833-29 is the 29th part of the multi-series ISO 1833 and discusses mixtures of polyamide with polypropylene/polyamide bicomponent.
ISO 1833-29 specifies a method, using sulfuric acid, to determine the mass percentage of polyamide, after removal of non-fibrous matter, in textiles made of binary mixtures of polyamide with polypropylene/polyamide bicomponent.
Who is ISO 1833-29 for?
ISO 1833-29 on quantitative chemical analysis of textile is useful for:
- Textile manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
- Testing laboratories
Why should you use ISO 1833-29?
Quantitative analysis is any method used for determining the amount of a chemical in a sample. The amount is always expressed as a number with appropriate units. An acid-base titration is an example of quantitative analysis. Mixtures of polyamide with polypropylene/polyamide bicomponent are often used for carpets. Polypropylene is the matrix of the bicomponent which includes polyamide fibrils.
ISO 1833-29 provides the required guidance on conducting the determination of quantitative chemical analysis of mixtures of polyamide with polypropylene/polyamide bicomponent including the principle to be used, reagents, apparatus, test procedures of performing the test, and the calculation and expression of results.
Quantitative chemical analysis is beneficial for ensuring the chemical's safety, quality, productivity, control, consistency, among other factors that affect everyday life. ISO 1833-29 helps you to manufacture better quality, safe, and durable products. ISO 1833-29 also helps you to gain consumer confidence.
