What is ISO 19574-Test method to assess the antifungal activity of footwear and footwear components about?
ISO 19574 is an international standard on footwear and footwear components that discusses the test method to assess the antifungal activity of footwear and footwear components to ensure protection to the wearer from antifungal activity.
ISO 19574 specifies a test method (growth test) for the qualitative evaluation of the antifungal activity of footwear and footwear components exposed to the action of filamentous micro-fungi.
ISO 19574 is only applicable to footwear and components that claim to have antifungal (antimycotic) or antimicrobial treatment effects.
Who is ISO 19574-Test method to assess the antifungal activity of footwear and footwear components for?
ISO 19574 on the test method to assess the antifungal activity of footwear and footwear components is useful for:
- Footwear and footwear components manufacturers
- Footwear and footwear components test personnel
- Occupational health and safety departments
- Quality assurance departments
Why should you use ISO 19574-Test method to assess the antifungal activity of footwear and footwear components?
Antifungal activity (antimycotic activity) is the efficacy of a material or finish used to prevent or mitigate the growth of micro-fungi, reduce the number of micro-fungi, or kill micro-fungi.
ISO 19574 provides you with guidance on the apparatus, biological safety cabinet, test microorganisms, preparation of test spore suspension, preparation of test specimens, test procedures, expression of results, test report, etc.
The test methods and test procedures provided by ISO 19574 assist you in improving the performance and quality of the footwear and footwear components, enhancing safety, and ensuring protection to the wearer from the growth of bacteria and the formation of microbial colonies.
With obedience and compliance to ISO 19574, you can enhance footwear and footwear components’ effectiveness and efficacy and manufacture a standardized high-quality product.
