What is ISO 205681 - Fluoropolymer dispersions and moulding and extrusion materials about?
Fluoropolymer is worldwide popular for its insulating properties and high resistance to solvents, acids, and bases.
ISO 205681 establishes a system of designation for fluoropolymer materials, which may be used as the basis for specifications. ISO 205681 also contains the requirements for specifying a thermoplastic material for a particular specification.
Who is ISO 205681 - Fluoropolymer dispersions and moulding and extrusion materials for?
ISO 205681 on fluoropolymer dispersions and moulding and extrusion materials is useful for manufacturing companies associated with:
- Wire insulation
- Non-stick cookware and bakeware
- Packaging for lithium-ion batteries
- Implants and catheters
Why should you use ISO 205681 - Fluoropolymer dispersions and moulding and extrusion materials?
The various types of fluoropolymers are differentiated from each other by a classification system based on appropriate levels of the designatory properties.
The designation system in ISO 205681 applies to all fluoropolymers and blends. It applies to unmodified materials ready for normal use and materials modified.
ISO 205681 does not provide engineering data, performance data or data on processing conditions that may be required to specify a material. If such additional properties are required, they are intended to be determined in accordance with the test methods specified in ISO 205682, if suitable.
The guidelines in ISO 205681 help you with specifying fluoropolymer materials for further uses.
What’s changed since the last update?
This first edition of BS EN ISO 205681 supersedes ISO 120861:2006. BS EN ISO 205681 includes some technical changes with respect to ISO 120861:2006. These include:
- Introducing a new designation system
