What is ISO 20765‑1 - Gas-phase properties for transmission and distribution applications about?
ISO 20765-1 specifies a method of calculation for the volumetric and caloric properties of natural gases, natural gases containing synthetic admixture and similar mixtures, at conditions where the mixture can exist only as a gas.
The method specified in ISO 20765‑1 is applicable to pipeline-quality gases within the ranges of pressure, p, and temperature, T, at which transmission and distribution operations normally take place. For volumetric properties (compression factor and density), the uncertainty of calculation is about ± 0,1 % (95 % confidence interval). For caloric properties (for example enthalpy, heat capacity, Joule-Thomson coefficient, speed of sound), the uncertainty of calculation is usually greater.
Who is ISO 20765‑1 - Gas-phase properties for transmission and distribution applications for?
ISO 20765‑1 on gas-phase properties for transmission and distribution applications is useful for:
- Oil and natural gas industry
- Testing houses and laboratories
- Gas pipeline installation agencies
- Gas transmission and distribution agencies
Why should you use ISO 20765‑1 - Gas-phase properties for transmission and distribution applications?
ISO 20765‑1 provides a method to calculate the thermodynamic properties of natural gas or similar mixtures and ensure pipeline quality of the gases so as to ensure transmission and distribution takes place normally.
ISO 20765‑1 provides guidance on determining thermodynamic properties by component analysis of pipeline-quality natural gas.
ISO 20765‑1 allows you to summarize the sequence of calculations that needs to be carried out in order to implement the evaluation of thermodynamic properties.
