What is ISO 21663 about?
ISO 21663 specifies the determination of total content of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and sulphur in solid recovered fuels by instrumental method. Depending on the amount of test portion, micro or macro instrumental apparatus are used.
ISO 21663 is applicable for concentrations on dry matter basis of C > 0,1 %, N > 0,1 %, H > 0,1 % and S > 0,05 %.
Who is ISO 21663 for?
ISO 21663 on solid recovered fuels is relevant to:
- Petrochemical industry
- Chemical engineers
- Bio scientists
- Fuel Research and Development (R&D) organisations
Why should you use ISO 21663?
The solid recovered fuels are produced from industrial and commercial waste through mechanical treatment.
ISO 21663 assists the user with the determination of total content of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and sulphur is usually performed using instrumental methods. Depending on the amount of test portion used two distinct types of instrumental methods are described in ISO 21663, which are:
- Micro methods that require few milligrams of sample
- Macro methods use grams of sample.
Overall, ISO 21663-compliant methods to determine the carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and sulphur with the instrumental method will provide you with an accurate assessment of the chemical composition of solid recovered fuels, that enable you to make the right choice of materials for your specific engineering and product needs.
