What is ISO 22633–Adhesives about?
ISO 22633 specifies a test method to measure the dimensional changes of a linoleum floorcovering while being adhered to a glass substrate. This method is to be used in conjunction with other test methods and not used solely to determine the suitability of a particular adhesive/linoleum combination.
This test is designed as a laboratory test to show the change in dimensions of a linoleum floor covering in the early stages of bonding with an adhesive. Glass was chosen as an impervious substrate to maximize the effect.
This test does not necessarily reproduce the effects which occur on porous substrates such as in practical site conditions.
Who is ISO 22633–Adhesives for?
ISO 22633 on adhesives is relevant to:
- Manufacturers of adhesives
- Civil engineers and architects
- Chemical engineers
- Any entity responsible for testing and quality of adhesives
- Flooring industry
Why should you use ISO 22633–Adhesives?
Adhesives are any nonmetallic liquid or powder that binds two separate items together and resists their separation. The most common types of adhesives are glues, cement, and pastes.
ISO 22633 contains guidelines and methods for testing adhesives to be used in floor covers and wallcoverings. Linoleum floor coverings are tested by using adhesives used in floorcoverings and wallcoverings.
Overall, BS EN 17224 is a comprehensive guide to provide methods for determining the dimensional changes of linoleum flooring when in contact with adhesives, so users will gain a comprehensive understanding of the quality of adhesives, durability and strength.
