What is ISO 22744‑1 about?
ISO 22744 discusses the determination of organotin compounds for textiles and textile products. ISO 22744‑1 is the first part of the multi-series ISO 22744 and discusses the derivatisation method using gas chromatography.
ISO 22744‑1 specifies a test method for the qualification and quantification of organotin compounds. ISO 22744‑1 is applicable to all types of materials of textile products.
Who is ISO 22744‑1 for?
ISO 22744‑1 on the determination of organotin compounds for textile and textile products is useful for:
- Textile and textile products manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 22744‑1?
Organotin compounds (organotin) are substances composed of tin directly bound to different organic groups. The mono-, di-, or tri-substituted organotin have the most applications in the apparel and footwear industry. Gas chromatography is a novel technique for separating and quantitating vaporized compounds using an inert carrier gas.
ISO 22744‑1 provides the required guidance on conducting the test on organotin components from textile including the principle, reagents, apparatus, and material, preparation of the material, and procedures to perform the test. ISO 22744‑1 helps you to ensure the safety and quality of the textiles.
