What is ISO 22744-2 about ?
ISO 22744 discusses the determination of organotin compounds for textiles and textile products.
ISO 22744-2 is the second part of the multi-series ISO 22744 and discusses the direct method using liquid chromatography.
ISO 22744-2 specifies a test method for the qualification and quantification of organotin compounds. ISO 22744-2 is applicable to all types of materials of textile products.
Who is ISO 22744-2 for ?
ISO 22744-2 on the determination of organotin compounds for textile and textile products is useful for:
- Textile and textile products manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 22744-2 ?
Organotin compounds (organotins) are substances composed of tin directly bound to different organic groups. Generally, the mono-, di-, or tri-substituted organotins have the most applications in the apparel and footwear industry. Liquid chromatography (LC) is a separation technique in which the mobile phase is a liquid, where sample ions or molecules are dissolved. It is carried out either in a column or a plane.
ISO 22744‑2 provides the required guidance on conducting the test on organotin components from textile including the principle, reagents, apparatus, and material, preparation of the material, and procedures to perform the test. ISO 22744‑2 ensures the safety and quality of the textile for building consumer confidence in the product.
