What is ISO 23145-1 —Tap density of ceramic powders about?
ISO 23145-1 is the first part of an international multi-series standard that focuses on advanced, technical, fine ceramics.
ISO 23145-1 specifies a procedure to determine the tap density of granulated or ungranulated ceramic powders by a constant-volume measuring method.
ISO 23145-1 stipulates the technical specifications such as the principle of a test, apparatus required, sampling method, test procedure, calculation, and stating the test report for checking the tap density of the ceramic powders.
Who is ISO 23145-1 —Tap density of ceramic powders for?
ISO 23145-1 on Tap density of ceramic powders is useful for:
- Glass products manufacturers
- Ceramic products industry
- Electrical equipment manufacturers
- Refractories
- Construction material industries
- Test laboratories for ceramic powders
Why should you use ISO 23145-1 —Tap density of ceramic powders?
The tap density of ceramic powders is nothing, but increased bulk density achieved after tapping a repository containing the powder sample, mechanically. The tap density can be acquired by mechanically tapping a graduated measuring cylinder or container carrying the powder sample.
ISO 23145-1 lays down the technicalities for carrying out a test procedure to determine the tap density of the ceramic powders. It gives you detailed information about the apparatus needed to perform the test, explains the principle of the test, helps the users to execute the calculations as well as concludes the final test report.
The test procedure given in ISO 23145-1, helps the users to acknowledge the packing properties of the ceramic powder, which can influence the operations critical to solid dosage manufacturing, including bulk storage, powder flow, and compaction.
