What is ISO 23243 about?
ISO 23243 defines terms used in ultrasonic testing with arrays. This includes phased array technology and signal processing technology using arrays, e. g. the full-matrix capture (FMC) and the total focusing technique (TFM)
Note: ISO 23243 follows a structure similar to that in ISO 5577 but only takes into account terms related to ultrasonic arrays. The general terms already defined in ISO 5577 are also valid for ultrasonic arrays.
Who is ISO 23243 for?
ISO 23243 on ultrasonic testing with arrays is relevant to:
- Medical imaging professionals
- Industrial nondestructive testing professionals
- Hospitals
- Metals industry
Why should you use ISO 23243?
Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), also known as phased array UT, is an advanced non-destructive inspection technique that uses a set of ultrasonic testing (UT) probes made up of numerous small elements.
Phased array ultrasonics (PA) is an advanced method of ultrasonic testing that has applications in medical imaging and industrial nondestructive testing. Common applications are to noninvasively examine the heart or to find flaws in manufactured materials such as welds
Non-destructive ultrasonic testing with arrays can be a very vast topic and often difficult to understand, ISO 23243 solves this problem by providing you with terms and definitions of phased array technology and signal processing technology using arrays. This standardised document of terms and definitions provides industries with a uniform flow of information and this will increase efficiency and clarity in your organization.
