What is ISO 24264 about?
ISO 24264 discusses footwear quality. Sometimes perfectly good products need to be discarded due to one attached part coming off. Quality standards and tests for attachment strength can prevent this and increase the longevity of the product.
ISO 24264 focuses on footwear attachments – namely, between the heel and top piece. ISO 24264 specifies a method for determining the attachment pull-out strength of heel top pieces. ISO 24264 is applicable to all kinds of heels with top pieces.
Who is ISO 24264 for?
ISO 24264 on heel and top piece attachment strength is useful for:
- Footwear manufacturers
- Footwear designers
- Research and development personnel
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 24264?
Shoes are usually cherished possessions. Besides their utility value, shoes can be statement pieces and fashion accessories. Often, users intend to keep them for a long time, and match them with the outfit and activity. The quality of all attachments and joints decide how long shoes will last. ISO 24264 guides you with specifications and tests to assess the heel and top piece attachment strength on footwear.
Badly designed shoes can come apart as a result of impact or fatigue during everyday walking and general use. Heel failures can result in serious injury to the wearer. High-heeled shoes need to be engineered with components that ensure that the heel is attached securely to the top. ISO 24264 helps you to design footwear that has a strong heel and top piece attachment. This lets your customers enjoy the footwear for a longer time.
