What is ISO 24266 about?
ISO 24266 discusses footwear quality. Shoes are usually cherished possessions. Besides their utility value, shoes can be statement pieces and fashion accessories. Often, users intend to keep them for a long time. The ability to retain their shape after repeated use is an important characteristic of high-quality shoes. The tests provided in ISO 24266 ensure that shoes are flexible and durable so that they can retain their shape after constant use.
ISO 24266 specifies two test methods for the determination of the flexing durability of whole shoes. The two methods might not give comparable results.
Note: ISO 24266 is not applicable to the whole shoes with heel height more than 50 mm, the thickness of flexing area of the soles more than 25 mm, or flexing angle less than 45°.
Who is ISO 24266 for?
ISO 24266 on flexing durability of footwear is useful for:
- Footwear manufacturers
- Footwear designers
- Research and development personnel
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 24266?
Flex durability refers to the capacity of deformed materials under pressure to maintain their stable property after the external forces are removed. Generally, the flex process affects the physical properties of materials.
ISO 24266 is used to determine flexing resistance or indicate the cracks in the shoe or shoe sole through reciprocating flexing movement. Tests for flexing durability of footwear elaborated in ISO 24266 help you to manufacture durable footwear that retains its shape after repeated use, letting your customers enjoy long-lasting shoes
