What is ISO 374‑4-Determination of degradation resistance in protective gloves about?
ISO 374 discusses protective gloves against dangerous chemicals and micro-organisms. ISO 374‑4 is an international standard on the determination of degradation resistance by chemicals in protection gloves to reduce the risk of workplace injuries.
ISO 374‑4 is the fourth part of a multi-part series that specifies the test method for the determination of the resistance of protective glove materials to degradation by dangerous chemicals with continuous contact.
Under ISO 374‑4 it is preferable that other tests used in addition to the evaluation of chemical resistance such as permeation resistance and penetration, as the chemical test does not provide sufficient information on the physical property changes affecting a glove during exposure to a chemical.
Note: Under ISO 374‑4 the outside surface of the glove be exposed to the chemical.
Who is ISO 374‑4-Determination of degradation resistance in protective gloves for?
ISO 374‑4 on the determination of degradation resistance in protective gloves is useful for:
- Protective gloves manufacturers
- Protective gloves testers and developers
- Quality assurance departments
- Health and safety departments
Why should you use ISO 374‑4-Determination of degradation resistance in protective gloves?
Safety gloves are designed to protect workers' hands from hazards so that they can perform their job safely. Gloves come in many varied materials that offer protection against specific dangers.
ISO 374‑4 provides you with test methods, test principles, sampling, apparatus, and procedures to perform tests on the protective gloves.
The test methods and procedures provided by ISO 374‑4 assist you to determine the protective glove is degradation resistant and help to improve the quality of the protective glove, hence ensuring protection to end-users from workplace hazards, chemical hazards, and micro-organisms.
Adopting ISO 374‑4 the user can enhance the efficiency of the protective gloves and produce a product that has global acceptance in the market.
