What is ISO 4797- Boiling flasks with conical ground joints about?
ISO 4797 discusses laboratory glassware. Conical flask uses include mixing and heating solutions, short-term storage, and research involving testing accessories such as chemical probes and sensors.
ISO 4797 specifies requirements for an internationally acceptable series of boiling flasks with conical ground joints for general laboratory purposes.
Who is ISO 4797- Boiling flasks with conical ground joints for?
ISO 4797 on boiling flasks with conical ground joints is useful for:
- Laboratory instruments manufacturers/suppliers
- Laboratory owners
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 4797 -Boiling flasks with conical ground joints?
Laboratory glassware refers to a variety of equipment used in scientific work, and is traditionally made of glass. Glass can be blown, bent, cut, molded, and formed into many sizes and shapes, and is therefore common in chemistry, biology, and analytical laboratories. Many laboratories have training programs to demonstrate how glassware is used and to alert first–time users to the safety hazards involved with using glassware.
ISO 4797 provides you with the types of boiling flasks with conical ground joints. ISO 4797 provides you with guidance series of capacity, materials, dimensions, ground glass joints, thermal shock endurance, and marking of boiling flasks with conical ground joints. ISO 4797 helps you to manufacture high-quality boiling flasks with conical ground joints.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN ISO 4797:2015 supersedes BS EN ISO 4797:2004 which is withdrawn. BS EN ISO 4797:2015 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN ISO 4797:2004. These include:
- Round-bottom flasks with nominal volumes of 3 l, 5 l, and 20 l have been added
- Overall heights of some round-bottom flasks of Series 1 have been modified
- Requirements for thermal shock endurance have been added
