What is ISO 6974-3-Determination of composition and associated uncertainty by gas chromatography about?
ISO 6974-3 is the third part of the ISO 6974 multi-series that discusses natural gas. ISO 6974-3 describes the precision that can be expected from the gas chromatographic method that is set up in accordance with ISO 6974-1. The stated precision provides values for the magnitude of variability that can be expected between test results when the method described in ISO 6974-1 is applied in one or more competent laboratories. ISO 6974-3 also gives guidance on the assessment of bias.
Who is ISO 6974-3-Determination of composition and associated uncertainty by gas chromatography for?
ISO 6974-3 on the determination of composition and associated uncertainty by gas chromatography is relevant to:
- Testing authorities
- Petro-chemical engineers
- Drilling engineers
- Hydrographic surveyors
- Producers of natural gas
- Statistical quality control team
Why should you use ISO 6974-3-Determination of composition and associated uncertainty by gas chromatography?
The bias of a measurement process is a consistent or systematic difference between an average of a set of test results and the assigned value for the measured property.
ISO 6974-3 provides you with precision values that are expected by performing the test method described in ISO 6974-1. ISO 6974-3 also helps you to evaluate the bias of the measurement process which can help you to identify the cause of the bias.
Overall, ISO 6974-3 is useful as it guides the measurement precision under a set of repeatability conditions of measurement.
