What is ISO 8033 - Adhesion strength of rubber and plastic hoses about?
ISO 8033 is an international standard used for rubber and plastic hoses. ISO 8033 is a best practice guide that specifies method of conducting the test.
ISO 8033 specifies methods for the determination of the adhesion between lining and reinforcement, between cover and reinforcement, between reinforcement layers, between the cover and outer lamination (thin layer of material outside the cover for protection) and between the lining and inner lamination (thin layer of material inside the lining to reduce the permeation of fluid into the lining).
Note: ISO 8033 covers all bore sizes and the following types of hose construction:
- Woven textile fabric
- Braided textile fabric
- Knitted textile fabric
- Circular-woven textile fabric
- Textile spiral
- Textile cord
- Wire braid
- Wire spiral
- Hoses containing a supporting helix
Who is ISO 8033 - Adhesion strength of rubber and plastic hoses for?
ISO 8033 on rubber and plastics hoses is useful for:
- Manufacturers of rubber and plastic hoses
- Chemical industries
- Gas stations
- Oil refineries
- Gas refiners
Why should you use ISO 8033 - Adhesion strength of rubber and plastic hoses?
Rubber hoses are basically rubber tubes made for transferring oil and water-based fluids.
ISO 8033 specifies the test methods, test procedures and test pieces. With the help of these test pieces, you can measure the adhesion strength of rubber and plastic hoses under different climatic conditions. The test pieces of standard dimensions that are useful in measuring the adhesion strength between these components are as follows:
- Lining and reinforcement
- Cover and reinforcement
- Reinforcement layers
- Cover and outer lamination
- Lining and inner lamination
ISO 8033 can guide you in measuring and determining the adhesion strength of rubber and plastic hoses. Using ISO 8033, you can ensure the sustainability of rubber and plastic hoses which result in manufacturing and assembling good quality rubber and plastic hoses.
