What is ISO 8130-5 about?
ISO 8130 discusses coating powders. ISO 8130-5 is the fifth part of the ISO 8130 multi-series and discusses the determination of flow properties of a powder/air mixture.
ISO 8130-5 specifies a method for estimating the flow properties of a mixture of coating powder and air.
Who is ISO 8130-5 for?
ISO 8130-5 on Coating powders is useful for:
- Paint Manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 8130-5?
Flow properties represent the ability of the powders to be handled and have a great influence on powder storage and transportation, fluidization, spraying process, and even surface performance, which is a vital property of powder coatings.
ISO 8130-5 provides you with a method to determine the flow properties of powders. The results obtained by the method in ISO 8130-5 are influenced by the composition of the coating powder, its density, particle size distribution, and particle shape, together with the tendency of the particles to agglomerate and to accept a charge.
