What is ISO 8560 about?
ISO 8560 is an International Standard on technical drawings, which aims to enhance the execution of infrastructure projects.
ISO 8560 lays down rules for the representation of modular sizes, lines and grids on construction drawings. The basic module M is 100 mm. ISO 8560 are useful not only for design drawings but can also be added to production drawings for manufacturing, orientation and location.
Who is ISO 8560 for?
ISO 8560 which contain information regarding construction drawings can be used by:
- Construction engineers
- Architects
- Institutes teaching construction and design
- Land and architectural surveying companies
Why should you use ISO 8560?
For any infrastructure project, a graphical portrayal of the site is vital for the smooth execution and technical accuracy during its construction. The rules for representation of modular sizes, lines and graphs under ISO 8560 is useful to communicate technical specifications of a project in a common format. This ensures of clear and concise communication across entities in the construction domain, resulting in a safe, proportional and functional structure.
Rules under ISO 8560 are helpful in solving layout problems in design while also providing the required consistency and improved visualisation to the executuion team.
